A group of armed rebels attacked a Chinese-run gold mining town in Central African Republic on Sunday, killing at least four people and injuring others. According to a local government spokesperson, Maxime Balalu, the attack was carried out by the Coalition of Patriots for Change, a rebel group that is reportedly loyal to former President Francois Bozize. This strike is the latest in a series of attacks that has claimed the lives of several Chinese nationals and deterred foreign companies from carrying out mining activities in the country.
