National Ethnographic Museum

Guinea-Bissau National Ethnographic Museum is the country’s national ethnographic museum. It is one of the country’s two major museums and is located in Bissau. It had a library of 14,000 books as of 1998. The Museum was built in 1948 on what was then Plaza do Imperio, which is now National Heroes Square, next to the Presidential Palace. On September 15, 2017, it reopened to the public.

Historical Museum of Cacheu

It is located on the coast of Guinea-Bissau in Cacheu. A new memorial has opened to commemorate this impoverished nation’s exiled sons and daughters, not only to remember Portugal’s brutal venture into Africa, but also to establish itself on the historical tourism circuit.
