The African Energy Chamber has partnered with Rystad Energy and the African Export-Import Bank for the Invest in African Energy event in London to drive European investment across Africa’s energy sector
The African Energy Chamber (AEC) (EnergyChamber.org) – the voice of the African energy sector – is proud to announce that multinational energy market research firm, Rystad Energy, and leading pan-African financial services provider, the African Export-Import Bank (Afreximbank), have been confirmed as the official partners for the Invest in African Energy New Year Reception, taking place at the Waldorf Hilton luxury hotel in London on 26 January, 2023.
The Invest in African Energy reception serves to drive European investment across Africa’s burgeoning energy environment and comes at a critical time for Africa’s energy sector. While the continent boasts an estimated 125.3 billion barrels of crude oil, 620 trillion cubic feet of gas and untapped renewable energy potential, and Europe continues to seek alternative energy supplies as the bloc diversifies away from Russian oil and gas, the New Year reception will unite global business leaders, investors and government representatives to explore new investment and energy trading opportunities between the African and the European markets.
Rystad Energy, having served as the official intelligence partner for AEW 2022 and now for the Invest in African Energy event, continues to play a crucial role in driving investment across the African energy market through the provision of state-of-the art market intelligence. Rystad Energy’s timely and in-depth analysis of both Africa and global energy market trends has and will continue to be crucial for providing European investors with the information they need to make informed decisions with regards to increasing investment to fast-track energy addition in Africa while supporting a just and inclusive energy transition. As a partner for the Invest in African Energy Reception, Rystad Energy will help expand the discussion on investing in Africa’s energy future while facilitating new deals and partnerships on the back of market intelligence.
Meanwhile, as a key driver of African energy sector expansion and a facilitator of Africa’s trade finance sector, Afreximbank’s partnership will help unlock and enhance private-public sector collaboration as well as Africa-Europe investment ties. Having served as the official partner for the 2022 edition of the AEC’s annual energy event, African Energy Week (AEW) – Africa’s premier event for the oil and gas sector which saw $2 billion worth of deals signed to grow Africa’s energy sector – as partner of the Invest in African Energy Reception, the Afreximbank, alongside the AEC, is set to usher in a new era of stronger energy developments on the back of optimal capital flow across the continent’s oil and gas sector. With both Afreximbank and the AEC pushing ahead with the creation of the African Energy Bank to improve financing across the continent’s energy spectrum, the Invest in African Energy event provides an opportunity for the two to network, interact and sign partnership deals with European hydrocarbon financiers and global multilateral investment institutions to fast-track both the creation of the bank and energy developments across the continent.
“The Chamber is so proud to have partnered with both Rystad Energy and Afreximbank for the Invest in African Energy event in London where more deals are expected to be signed that will drive African oil, gas and energy developments. We believe that improved cooperation with parties such as Rystad Energy, Afreximbank and European investors as well as platforms such as the Invest in Africa event will continue to be key to making energy poverty history across the African continent a reality by 2030,” stated NJ Ayuk, the Executive Chairman of the AEC.
Through its high-level, investment-dedicated panel discussions, exclusive networking and deal signings, the Invest in African Energy event will serve as a prelude for the 2023 edition of AEW – the official meeting place for African energy policymakers and key stakeholders and investors – which will take place from 16 – 20 October in Cape Town.
Taking place on 26 January 2023, the Invest in African Energy Reception Event will be held at the Waldorf Hilton luxury hotel in Aldwych, London. Participation is open to all guests and RSVP is essential. RSVP to registration@aecweek.com.
